Account Director, Business Leadership - League & Sports Partnerships

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Momentum Worldwide is looking for an incredible Account Director who will drive IRL, virtual and hybrid experiential programs designed to attract prospects and engage consumers. This position will strategically lead client partnerships and marketing programs across the brand’s professional sports league portfolio and help bring major brand activations to life. You will play an active part in various projects from brief to execution for a financial services client and build experiences that create connection between brand and consumer. Passion for Sports and Entertainment is a definite plus.  

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Serve as an integral member of a major financial services brand team within the agency, with responsibility for developing and managing client business
  • Lead client’s sports league business, including ongoing partnership management support and guidance regarding the utilization and optimization of all contractual assets
  • Develop and deliver complex programming and experiences, from ideation through to concept execution, with a keen ability to translate the client’s objectives into strategic and creative opportunities
  • Collaborate with clients, partner agencies, and sponsorship partners, as well as additional business units – including the client’s team and venue verticals – to deliver 360 programming on behalf of the client
  • Support additional brand programs across the client enterprise, as necessary
  • Build & maintain industry knowledge and relationships, driving strategic innovation and identifying brand opportunities
  • Navigate internal and external partners, building rapport and navigating dynamic conversations, as appropriate
  • Oversee all program financial management, including revenue and resource projections, as well as ongoing budget management
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Momentum’s core disciplines and be proactive in growing client business across the agency
  • Travel to various locations across the country to meet with clients or partner agencies, as needed
  • Manage and mentor 1-2 direct report(s); fostering an environment of mutual respect and partnership, strategic thinking, appropriate risk taking, open lines of communication, on-going performance feedback, and professional development
  • Supporting Momentum’s values and core beliefs on an inclusive culture
  • All other duties as assigned

 
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 8 – 10 years of related experience (marketing, experiential, etc.)
  • 3+ years agency experience preferred
  • 3+ years sports experience, interaction with a sports league preferred
  • Experience managing/training/mentoring junior team members
  • Comfortable at a leadership level, with a self-starting and proactive ability to see the work and resources required to deliver the ask, and conduct the team accordingly
  • Ability to develop and deploy a long-term vision
  • Fascinated by the business of sport and with a demonstrated interest in how brands connect to audiences in this space
  • Proven success in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team in achieving established objectives
  • Organized and nimble, with the ability to forecast program planning and client needs, guide teams with varying priorities, and adapt to shifting variables
  • Operational experience, including building and managing budgets, identifying necessary resources, and managing time efficiently
  • Experience working on large clients/projects with many moving parts
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, resourceful
  • Polished, professional demeanor, team player
  • Experience in additional entertainment verticals (i.e. music, etc.) a plus


SALARY RANGE
The salary range for this position is from $120,000 to $130,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; location and region; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
