LOS ANGELES – June 27, 2017 – The 3% Movement and brand experience agency, Momentum Worldwide, have partnered to launch the It Takes a Village “Work Pause Thrive” book tour that will be hosted this year in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta.
Based on key insights from 3% Movement’s chief operating officer, Lisen Stromberg’s new book, Work Pause Thrive: How to Pause for Parenthood Without Killing Your Career, the It Takes a Village tour will address how leaders can limit the talent drain that results from having 24/7 work cultures in agencies and will offer solutions for individuals so they can achieve true work/life integration.
“We used to think work/life balance was a women’s issue, but with 61% of Millennial women reporting they plan to pause their careers when they become mothers and 72% of Millennial fathers already saying they’ve changed jobs for better work/life balance, this is really a business issue,” says Stromberg. “Businesses need to rethink how they can create workplaces in which everyone will thrive and individuals need answers for how to navigate the challenging ecosystem until they do.”
It Takes a Village will bring together women and men across innovative and creative industries to talk about issues of work and life, as well as ways to combat a lack of female creative leadership.
Speakers for this event include:
Beatriz Acevedo, founding partner and president, mitú
Alix Madigan, film producer of Oscar nominated film, “Winter’s Bone”
Donnalyn Smith, president, Momentum Worldwide North America
Bonnie Wan, director of brand strategy and partner, Goodby Silverstein & Partners
Lisen Stromberg, author of “Work Pause Thrive: How to Pause for Parenthood Without Killing Your Career” and chief operating officer of The 3% Movement
Recognizing that “It takes a village to fix the scales; to find the time; to change the way we work,” It Takes a Village will provide leaders with real solutions for change within their organizations and offer individuals insights into how they can craft their own work/life plan regardless of workplace pressures.
“It’s both harder and easier than ever to have a true work/life balance, but it starts at the top, with organizations taking a stand and stepping up for their employees,” says Donnalyn Smith, president of Momentum Worldwide, North America. “At Momentum we’ve introduced programs like coaching to help reintegrate parents to the workplace and providing flexible hours so parents can work from home or leave early when they need to. We work jobs, in part, to help provide for our families and build a great life for them—if we’re not supporting our staff to go out and experience life with their families, then we’re doing the wrong thing. Without balance in our work and personal lives, we can never be as effective in either.”
Events are invitation-only and there are a few spots reserved for those who would like to request an invitation. To learn more and to request an invitation, please visit: https://ittakesavillagemomentumww.splashthat.com.
